Hi Mamas, Papas, Dadas, Babas and Nanas!
Kalahari Baby Co. was founded by Lebo who was born and raised in Botswana. As a newborn care provider and perinatal doula she noticed a disparity in the psychosocial support available for families with newborns. On the other side of the fence she noticed many birth workers are passionate about their work but are underpaid and underemployed.
In an effort to meet the demand of families who need more support during their perinatal journey, the Kalahari Baby Co. aims to increase access to quality support through subsidized services and fair pay for providers. Through workflows and systems aimed to increase efficiency, group training and crowd funding, Kalahari Baby Co. allows care providers to gain skills, access administrative support and earn equitable pay while focusing on their client's needs. Similarly by improving information sharing, pooling resources, creating community and crowd funding, the Kalahari Baby Co. fosters a community of families and other caregivers who receive high quality support. Kalahari Baby Co. is committed to providing non-judgmental support to all families including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, surrogate, adoptive and immigrant families. |
